"I Thought I Knew Love"(Poem #6)

     Yo, Yo, Yo, it's been a while, but I'm back with a smile. 8-)
     
     It's been too loooooong since I've posted a new Christian Poetry blog. I've been a little too busy. Won't let that happen again where I go a month without posting. So accept my sincerest apologies for taking so long to post a new one and enjoy the latest.

"I Thought I Knew Love"

I thought I knew love, 'til I read about CHRIST
GOD sent down HIS SON to save all of our lives
A MIRACLE CHILD who's been perfect since birth
The only such MAN to ever walk on this Earth

By the touch of HIS hands, the lame could now walk
The blind could now see, the mute could now talk
By the sound of HIS voice, the dead would arise
The lepers were cleansed and the demons would cry

And the people would stop to hear JESUS preach
"You believe in GOD, believe also in ME"
But some would despise the teaching of this
Then the greed of Judas betrayed HIM with a kiss

I thought I knew love, but JESUS knew more
As the soldiers began to beat our GREAT LORD
They also would mock HIM and spit in HIS face
And even through that, JESUS never lost GRACE

I thought I knew love, but I never will
Not the way JESUS did as HE walked up that hill
With blood on HIS face, from the thorns on HIS head
He continued to LOVE, though they wanted HIM dead

They nailed down HIS hands, they nailed down HIS feet
He was nailed to a cross, but HE couldn't be beat
Even while on the cross, HIS LOVE was still true
"FATHER, forgive them, for they know not what they do"

JESUS loves us so much, HE arose from the grave
And ascended to HEAVEN, the road is now paved
For all CHRISTians to join HIM in HEAVEN above
Until I read about JESUS, I thought I knew love

     How many times(That was the title to my very first poem. Shameless Plug, I know. But please check it out) have you seen it. People think they know love. Whether you're a teenager or an adult, sometimes we focus too much on love from others. We think it's the end of the world or something when we go through a breakup. Or we may have love for someone, but they don't love us back. With JESUS, we don't have to worry about any of that.

     JESUS IS LOVE! Focus on HIS LOVE and everything else will fall in place according to HIS WILL for your life. HE will never "breakup" with you. And HE will always LOVE you. You just need a little FAITH(like a mustard see) and PATIENCE(like Job). You will be BLESSED beyond measure(Beyond Measure. A Jeremy Camp song. Check it out sometime. Shameless Plug #2).
